Last week we posted a Spotify playlist from a guy in San Francisco who spent a few years wasting away at CVS in the mid- to late-’90s. The collection featured all the songs he was forced to listen to on a loop, and it was a nice nostalgia trip for everyone involved. Third Eye Blind were included in the compilation.
Around the same time, Widowspeak released their latest album, All Yours, via Captured Tracks, and today unveiled a new cover of a 3EB ’90s classic to coincide with news of their world tour. We love it when San Francisco themes collide.
Check out the Brooklyn band’s cover of “How’s It Going To Be,” a sincere rendition that has a bit of “Sweet Jane” melancholy to it, and check their full run of dates down below. Widowspeak’s upcoming tour includes an October 9 show at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Boston, and a seven-date West Coast stretch playing with Boston psych-folk wizards Quilt.
