September 25 is shaping up to be one of the biggest new music release dates of 2015. In addition to new albums on the way from Chvrches, Disclosure, New Order, Dungen, Julia Holter, Kurt Vile, The Dead Weather, The Dears, The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die, Youth Lagoon, and others, celebrated Massachusetts post-rock ensemble Caspian are set to release new LP Dust and Disquiet through a trio of labels (Triple Crown Records in the United States, Big Scary Monsters in Europe, and Australia’s Hobbledehoy).
With an extensive fall tour that kicks off Saturday in Brooklyn on the immediate horizon, the band released another cut off the album, via audio video, in “Arcs of Command,” a nearly-nine-minute torrent of sound. Experience it below.
“‘Arcs of Command’ is the third and final song we’ve chosen to reveal leading up to the official release of Dust and Disquiet on September 25,” Caspian writes. “The last two years have been a relentless whirlwind in many ways and we wanted to try and write a song that captured the intense end of that spectrum. We threw the kitchen sink into this track, no regrets, full-tilt.”
Included in Caspian’s upcoming tour is an October 23 show at the Sinclair in Cambridge. More info on that, and their full run of dates, after the audio.
