About a year ago Michael Angelakos of Passion Pit tipped us off about Ryn Weaver, the California-based singer-songwriter who had just dropped a mysterious and magnetic debut single, “Octahate.” Since then, Weaver has come into clear view with a string of fantastic tunes and the June release of debut LP The Fool, of which Angelakos appears frequently as a co-writer and co-producer.
Now Boston will get to see Weaver in mystical action up close, as this week she announced her Misfit Toys tour that features caps-locked alt-pop groups HOLYCHILD and ASTR. Tickets go on sale today, and that includes the Boston date, November 17 at the Paradise Rock Club.
“I really wanted to bring some bad ass babes on the road with me (+ boys) so I’m beyond excited to announce the MISFIT TOYS TOUR w ASTR and HOLYCHILD!” she writes this week. “Grab your tickets starting friday! I’ll see u soon!!”
