Yesterday we referenced a Spotify survey that cited the Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” and Major Lazer’s “Lean On” as the two certified Songs of the Summer. That was based off the number of plays on the music streaming service, but if you were counting up the plays all over the place — from personal playlists to bodegas to online and FM radio to television intros and outros and pretty much everywhere else — Saint Motel’s breakout hit “My Type” should be in the discussion as well.
This afternoon in Boston, they’ll remind you of the goods when they play a free 12:30 p.m. show on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway at Dewey Square. It’s a collaborative effort from Dunkin Donuts and Spotify, and no doubt you’ll hear “My Type” as well as VanyaRadio fave “Cold Cold Man.”
