Electoral College Dropout: Kanye West announces 2020 run for United States President

Kanye West has announced a bid to become President of the United States in 2020. That noise you heard was Twitter exploding.

The ultimate mic drop came at the end of Kanye’s long, rambling speech after accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at tonight’s MTV Music Video Awards in Los Angeles. Kanye rallied against awards shows (awk-ward!), opened up about his fame, and the power of the creative generation (he called himself a millennial even though he was born the year the first Star Wars film came out), and closed out his thoughts with the presidential bombshell. Watch a clip below; the full speech — which began with him addressing the infamous “Ima let you finish” stage crash from the ’09 VMAs — should be online soon.

We’re already excited for this potential presidency… and the possibility of First Lady Kim K.

It’s too early in the game to predict anything, but we don’t think Kanye will even need a running mate (Jay Z? Taylor Swift?), so let’s just start printing up those Kanye/Kanye ’20 stickers now. The only question is: Why not just put the foot on the gas and take on 2016?

A nation turns its lonely eyes to ‘Yeezus.

Also: WHAT NOW?

Don’t be confused. Let’s go.
