Last week Ryan Adams set the internet on fire with the promise of covering Taylor Swift’s 1989 LP in its entirety. Adams was not only set to go deep into the hit-laden record, but also do it in the style of the Smiths, he promised.
Well, the project is chugging right along, and over the weekend Adams gave a taste of Tay’s current mega-hit “Bad Blood.” Though Adams’ recent “as played by the Smiths” claim didn’t seem too truthful when hearing album opener “Welcome To New York,” we are getting some cool Johnny Marr vibes here on “Bad Blood,” courtesy of that guitar work.
“Gonna sound so good w strings,” Adams adds, teasing us even further.
