Last time we caught up with ASH, they were getting ready to open for Ride at Terminal 5 in New York City. Vanyaland managing editor Michael Christopher got frontman Tim Wheeler on the horn to discuss a variety of topics, like Star Wars and opening for the reunited shoegaze legends, but most important was the discussion on Ash’s unlikely new album, Kablammo!
Now that we’ve had a chance to let the record sink in — and if you aren’t hip to it, Kablammo! single “Cocoon” is vintage ASH and worth your attention — the trio has announced a proper North American tour to get it some stateside love.
ASH’s fall tour kicks off September 23 in Philadelphia and wraps October 8 in San Francisco. Among the city omissions are dates in Los Angeles and, of course, Boston. So maybe some extra shows will be added soon, or we’ll be taking the Bolt Bus down to NYC to catch the lads at Gramercy.
