A few months ago someone created a line of knitted Morrissey dolls, and the world went nuts. Now with about six months or so until Christmas, a massive series of plush dolls has started circulating online, crafted from the imaginative and creative mind of Brazilian based illustrator and toy designer Josmar Madureira.
As Dangerous Minds notes, Madureira was featured in the book Toy Land and is “a self-described addict of artifacts such as old cartoons, ’60s psychedelia and pop art among other cool pursuits.”
His interest, naturally, extends to musical icons. Madureira works under the moniker of “Katkiller,” and has compiled a line of plush dolls that depict music legends from David Bowie and Joy Division’s Ian Curtis to Amy Winehouse and Bjork. There are also dolls of Joan Jett, Freddie Mercury, Lemmy, Kurt Cobain, Sid Vicious, Robert Smith, and many others.
The dolls range in price from $30 to $35, converted from Brazilian Real, which is a pretty good deal. Check out his full online store here, and get shopping before everyone else does.
