When CHVRCHES play Boston Calling this September, they’ll be armed with a new album for everyone to download, purchase, and enjoy.
After several online teases and months of speculation, the Scottish electro-pop trio this morning announced sophomore LP Every Open Eye, and it’s out September 25 off Glassnote/Universal, the night that kicks off our city’s music festival’s fall slate. Also performing that weekend, in addition to CHVRCHES, are Hozier, Walk The Moon, Bully, Avett Brothers, Alt-J, Father John Misty, and others.
Every Open Eye is the 11-song follow-up to 2013 breakout album The Bones of What You Believe, and the track list features songs like “Never Ending Circles,” “Leave a Trace,” and “Make Them Gold.” Word is a new song will make its premiere later today on BBC Radio in the UK, and we’ll no doubt pass that along when it surfaces online.
UPDATE 9:20 a.m.: That was fast. Listen to “Leave A Trace” below via YouTube:
Meanwhile, check the album art, which has a nice Power, Corruption, & Lies feel, and buckle up for more CHVRCHES in our lives.
