They’re not calling it a festival, but it has that kind of vibe. And now, it has bands. A lot of them.
Forever-blossoming indie label Exploding In Sound has announced its five night, two city, billion band “Thank You For Being A Friend” extended weekend, going down August 20 to 24 across six venues in its two hometowns, Boston and New York.
“EIS wants to say thanks over the course of some special shows this summer,” the label writes online.
Close to the home front here in Boston, we get a triple-header of unruly awesome: An all-ages August 22 show at the Sinclair in Cambridge with Krill, BIG UPS, “Unholy Strength”, Stove, and Palehound; a matinée August 23 show at O’Brien’s Pub in Allston with Vundabar, Washer, Zula, Swings, Great Deceivers, and Lady Bones (complete with free pizza for the early-attendees); and an August 23 show at Allston’s Great Scott with Pile, Kal Marks, Gnarwhal, Leapling, and Bunny’s A Swine.
Tickets to Boston shows go on sale at noon today (Friday) via the links above.
