Sheila E., the bad-ass singer/drummer, Prince collaborator, and owner of 1984 hit “The Glamorous Life,” apparently didn’t like what went down last night at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. The 57-year-old Sheila Escovedo fired off a series of posts on Facebook calling out performers for lip-syncing (though not by name) and blasting Kanye West for his vulgar performance.
“Does anyone perform live anymore?” she asked. “Really? That’s why it’s about OldSkool.” She then rolled out a few choice hashtags: #notafraid #idare2bereal #ICON #BringIt #Billboards2015. She continued: “I don’t care what anybody says, I will bring it!”
We believe that!
Meanwhile at the Billboard Music Awards, Taylor Swift won eight awards related to her 1989 album, and Charli XCX and Iggy Azalea won “Best Rap Performance” with their smash hit “Fancy.” It was that kind of night.
