More than 30 years after it was created, a 1984 documentary on gospel music in Boston has surfaced online. The 30-minute clip was produced for WGBH by Howard Husock, father of Brookline-born soul and R&B singer Eli “Paperboy” Reed.
Reed, who posted the video to YouTube earlier today, writes: “My Dad produced this documentary for WGBH in 1984. Entitled Rough Side of the Mountain, it’s about Gospel music in Boston as seen through the lens of radio station WCAS and its legendary DJ David Adams. Enjoy!”
