Some people think art can be found anywhere you look. At Boston Calling, that will be the case.
The homegrown music festival announced the five winners of its Blank Canvas art competition, and the winning pieces will be displayed around the City Hall Plaza grounds next month when the May edition kicks off May 22. This spring’s festival is headlined by the Pixies, Beck, and My Morning Jacket.
“Blank Canvas is a national contest that gives artists the opportunity to concept and create a 36×60” mural inspired by Boston Calling,” writes the contest’s description. “Giving artists a vast platform to share their work, five winning works will be displayed at the festival itself, May 22-24, 2015.”
There were nearly 100 entries, and Boston Calling displayed them all in a recent photo gallery, asking fans to select their favorites in helping determine the winning five.
