We’ve been pretty sweet on Boston alt-rock/synth-punk band Big Time Kill ever since we first heard their debut track “I Want To Be Your Man” last summer. It didn’t really sound like anything else in Boston at the time, and still doesn’t. Since then, the somewhat mysterious crew with industrial tendencies has been plotting some greater visibility, remixing Band Without Hands’ “Hello Despair” and covering Devo’s 1980 new wave classic “Girl U Want”.
We hyped up the BWH remix back in December, but slept a bit on the Devo cover, which was posted online earlier this year. Since Big Time Kill has a show tonight at P.A.’s Lounge in Somerville, we figured it was high time to get re-acquainted with one of our new favorite Boston bands, all while saluting one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. Win-win.
Joining the ‘Kill in the dirty ‘Ville this evening are Lure Of The Animal, 95Hyde, Ambushed, and it’s billed as “a high-energy night of new rock, alternative, and metal,” presented by WEMF Radio.
