Last week we received a taste of the new Brandon Flowers single, “Can’t Deny My Love,” thanks to the Killers frontman’s live performance at a Mexico music festival.
Today, we get the studio version, and as expected, the vibrant ’80s-pop track benefits from some heavy studio polish.
“Can’t Deny My Love” is the first tune off Flowers’ upcoming sophomore solo record, The Desired Effect, which arrives May 18 and five years after his debut LP, Flamingo. Produced by Ariel Rechtshaid (Vampire Weekend, HAIM), B-Flow has said in the press that the new stuff will find the musician out “of [his] comfort zone,” and away from the glamour and glitz sound of his La Vegas hometown.
Listen to “Can’t Deny My Love” below, and remember, the Killers join Morrissey, Paul McCartney, Kings of Leon and others as headliners of this summer’s Firefly Music Festival in Delaware.
Get those post-Yacht Rock hats ready, and tell Don Johnson we have his new TV theme song.
Here’s the album art, as well:
