Red Hot: Motley Crews Heavy Metal Grill food truck explodes in Minnesota driveway

The Mötley Crüe live experience may no longer be explosive, but a food truck with a name inspired by the rock band certainly is. On Friday night, the Motley Crews Heavy Metal Grill food truck exploded in a quiet Minnesota town while it was parked in the driveway of one of its owners. The blast, according to the Stat Tribune, affected up to 20 homes in the town of Lakeville, and “shook homes, shattered windows, snapped 2-by-4s in garages, blew open front doors and rattled dishes and other items from their shelves and off walls.”

The food truck has no affiliation to Mötley Crüe.

Two people suffered minor injuries, and police believe the explosion was caused by a tank of cooking gas. A GoFundMe page was established for the owners, and it has raised more than $5,000 via 90s donors since yesterday. “The entire truck is gone, vehicles in shambles and their home is in dire need of repairs now,” writes Rocki Forseth. “They will not be able to stay in their home since it is not safe and it is cold in Minnesota and they have no windows.”

Earlier today, Motley Crews Heavy Metal Grill posted the following statement on its Facebook page:

We would like to start with sending out a HUGE Motley Shout out to our friends, family and fellow food truckers with all the support and love you have shown. It has been an overwhelming and heartwarming experience to answer all your texts and FB messages. I still have more to get to and I apologize it has taken so long but I will get to them all today. Lisa, Sam and I finally got some sleep last night.

It has been a surreal experience to see your Home, business and job all disappear with one big boom (excuse the pun). Speaking of puns, I am writing down all the puns (Good and bad) you guys are posting in the articles about us. Looks like they had to call Dr. Feel Good in the end, Must have been a “Live Wire” and my personal favorite, “They’ve got the cooks that grill”

I would so send a special thanks to the Lakeville Police, Fire and rescue! We have a day on the calendar for you when the restaurant opens.

No one was hurt! Are the words I keep repeating in my head over and over again. No one got hurt! We ARE going to move forward with the restaurant 100% green light and it WILL be open before Pan-O-Prog!

Last but not least I would like to take a moment to thank Rocki, who took it upon herself to create a GoFund me account on our behalf. I would never have done this myself but I am so grateful for the love and support all of you have shown. Thank you Rocki, we are blessed to have you in our life.

Thank you everyone for all your love and support

The Crew
