Patrick Swayze may be gone, but he’ll never be forgotten.
The late actor starred in some of the best films of the ’80s, like Road House and Dirty Dancing, and even provided his calming voice to the latter’s soundtrack. “She’s Like The Wind,” which doesn’t get old no matter how often we hear it — and it’s been nearly 30 years now — features some of our favorite lyrics ever in “She leads me through moonlight, only to burn me with the sun.”
That’s real.
Last night in Ireland, Ryan Adams and one-time Berklee student Natalie Prass kept Swayze’s flame burning bright, covering “She’s Like The Wind” at Cork Opera House in Cork. On tour together, the duo has been teaming up for duets, but nothing has shined as brightly as their acoustic, rather intimate cover of one of the greatest soundtrack songs in film history.
Watch Adam and Prass’ “She’s Like The Wind” below; and be sure to keep an eye on Prass’ SXSW schedule (posted below), as the Nashville performer is one of the more hotly tipped artists headed down to Austin this year. She’s also at the Sinclair in Cambridge on May 8, so don’t sleep on that, either.
