Lorde has called her “transcendent,” Madonna said she’s “incredible,” and last month the French Grammys, Victoires de la Musique Awards, awarded her with Best Female Artist. It’s safe too say that Héloïse Letissier, better known as her performance moniker Christine And The Queens, is ready for global domination as she sits stops the French music charts.
And the first step of that arrives later this month at South-By-Southwest, where Christine And The Queens make their stateside debut before hitching a ride on Marina & the Diamonds’ tour. The electronic music and art project just hooked up with Neon Gold, who pass along not only the good word, but the Queens’ new video for the bilingual pop smoothie “Tilted”.
Here’s what Neon Gold tells us:
So to say we’re honored to bring Christine And The Queens across the pond would be a vast understatement, and we’re over the moon to release her to American audiences for the first time with the Saint Claude EP out next month, preceded by her stateside debut at SXSW in a few weeks’ time. To mark the occasion, she unveils her debut US single “Tilted” today, an English reimagining of French / Belgian #1 hit “Christine”, diamond-cut and polished to chiseled perfection. Check out the immaculate lyric video for a taste of Christine’s future-perfect choreography, or dive into the stream here. Preorder the five track Saint Claude EP out April 14th on Neon Gold / Because / Atlantic HERE, and catch Christine’s debut US live shows at SXSW and supporting Marina & The Diamonds this spring.
That’s a lot going on, even for a name we’ll get used to fast. Listen to “Tilted” below…
