Last year the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack struck back in a big way. Between The Fault In Our Stars and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Vol. 1 , we got two of our favorite songs of 2014 in Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap” and Lorde’s “Yellow Flicker Beat,” respectively.
The trend of the OST leading the charge in pop music looks to continue this year with the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey film and its accompanying music. Though the full track listing has yet to be unveiled, we do know the Weeknd and Beyoncé will be taking part.
And now we can add Ellie Goulding to the list as well.
Today the UK pop princess unveiled new track “Love Me Like You Do,” a softer, more sensual side of the singer that previous hits like “Burn” and “Goodness Gracious.” Though Goulding has reportedly been working with collaborators like Drake and Mumford & Sons’ Ben Lovett, this track, written specifically for 50 Shades Of Grey, finds her teaming up with Swedish mega-producer Max Martin. And the result is a super-polished radio-ready anthem that should have its lyrics scrawled on every teenage girl’s notebooks.
Meanwhile, 50 Shades Of Grey hits theaters on February 13. Just in time for Valentine’s Day.
