Looking Ahead: Start up your Best of 2015 lists with another rock anthem from California X

At this point in the game, year-end lists are wicked passé, so it’s high time to start anticipating what will be the finer records of 2015. While new Faith No More, Bjork, Sleater-Kinney and others are decorating early Best Albums Of 2015 forecasting lists, our excited eyes are cast towards Western Massachusetts for the January 13 release of California X’s upcoming Nights In The Dark record.

Out via Don Giovanni Records (pre-order it here), we’ve already fallen in guitar-rock lust with the album’s title track, and now as the blitzing quartet get ready to hit the road for a January tour, another song, the weightless “Red Planet,” has surfaced. It proves “Nights In The Dark” was no fluke, and builds on the band’s intense, anthemic rock and roll.

Listen to “Red Planet” below, and scan the dates to see when California X plays your town. Witness them now before they rub elbows with Madonna on everyone’s Best of ’15 lists a year from now…
