Madonna has taken to Instagram to lash out at those who leaked her new album, calling the theft “artistic rape” and “a form of terrorism.”
According to the NME, the 56-year-old singer wrote: “This is artistic rape!! These are early leaked demo’s half of which wont even make it on my album the other half have changed and evolved. This is a form of terrorism. Wtf!!!! Why do people want to destroy artistic process??? Why steal? Why not give me the opportunity to finish and give you my very best?”
The post has since been deleted, but it’s not the first time Madonna has spoken out over early demos and tracks from her new album hitting the internet long before its expected release date. Two weeks ago she posted a picture of a broken iPod after new track “Rebel Heart” leaked, and earlier today she thanked her fans for being patient and rejecting the leaked, unauthorized material.
“Thank you for not listening!” Madonna wrote. “Thank you for your loyalty! Thank you for waiting and if you have heard please know they are unfinished demos stolen long ago and not ready to be presented to the world”
Madonna’s follow-up to 2012’s MDNA is allegedly titled Iconic or Unapologetic Bitch, and reportedly features collaborations with Alicia Keys, Diplo, and Avicii.
