It’s December, which means we’ll all be bracing for the avalanche of Best of 2014 and Year In Review articles coming fast and furious between now and Christmas. For many of these lists, Lana Del Rey’s June album Ultraviolence should be sitting right at the top. So perhaps as a reminder to the writers and editors out there across the digital media landscape, the singer today announced the first leg of her 2015 North American tour, and… holy fuck, Courtney Love will be opening the first eight dates.
Unfortunately, the tour doesn’t have a Boston date yet, and the closest Love’s leg comes to our town is the opener just outside Texas (May 7 at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion).
The rest of the dates have the ever-mysterious TBA, but after Love’s done, that replacement might have a tough act to follow.
The Hole singer/guitarist hinted at some sort of pairing with Del Rey over the weekend on Twitter. So who knows if something more than just tour dates are in order for the New Year.
See you in London in ten hours @LanaDelRey we are going to own that town xxc #excitingnews2come

Meanwhile, Del Rey’s Ultraviolence has reached the one million sales mark, hitting Number 1 on the charts in 15 different countries. Expect to see it on more than a few Best Of lists in the coming weeks. And of course, check out the Daily Pravda and Ruby Rose Fox’s performance as Lana at our recent Halloween party.
