Interpol isn’t the only ones bailing on Boston these days.
Ageless pop singer Cher has nixed the remaining 29 dates on her North American Dressed To Kill tour after doctors told her she needs more time to recover from a viral infection. Those affected dates included a January 7 stop at the TD Garden in Boston.
“I am totally devastated,” Cher wrote in a statement on her website. “Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I cannot apologize enough to all the fans who bought tickets. I’m so proud of this show. It is my best ever. I sincerely hope that we can come back again next year and finish what we started,” added the 68-year-old star.”
The Dressed To Kill tour began in March and sold out 49 shows (grossing $55 million) before taking a break in July. The singer fell ill in September with “an infection that affected her kidney function,” according to her website. The tour was supported to restart on September 11 in New York, but that date and subsequent shows were postponed.
Cher told fans that this tour would be her last.
Refunds for tickets to the cancelled shows will be available at the point of purchase.
Cher has also been tweeting updates as well. She is very upset about all this.
I’m SORRY I Couldn’t B the 1 to tell you about postponing my tour.
