Two blokes straight out of Nottingham have fucked up the stale-ass British music scene. And now they are coming to the United States for a chat.
Sleaford Mods, the most important and vital British music project in ages, make their stateside debut at the Wick in Brooklyn on November 29. It’s Thanksgiving weekend, so you can sit around with your asshole family for a few days before letting it all out like the sharp-tongued Jason Williamson on a ferocious bender.
Paired with producer Andrew Fearn, the lyricist Williamson has been giving disgruntled Brits a voice since the late 2000s, and the message broke through to the mainstream with April’s relentless verbal assault on the human condition, Divide & Exit.
It’s been called “the most British thing ever.” It’s been called something like “The Fall meets John Cooper Clarke meets the Streets meets ‘Parklife.'” And now it’s being called the best fookin’ thing going on in the UK right now, aided by an in-your-face style and fist-punch live show.
What the world needs now is Sleaford Mods.
And…
If you don’t like it you can always fuck off. Easy.
