With March’s “Going Out In Style” and this summer’s seasonally-appropriate “Short Shorts,” we had a feeling CreaturoS were up to something big with their next full-length cassette release. And today, we find out it’s even larger than anticipated.
The Cambridge psychedelic garage-punk this morning released Popsicle, eight tracks of musical mindfuckery and beautiful sonic fury that will be on live display tonight when they play Great Scott with White Fence. Also on the you-better-cancel-Wednesday bill are King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and Juan Waters.
“Culled from a variety of sessions between 2010-14, Popsicle gives you a taste of the band in a variety of flavors and colors — just be sure not to eat it up too quick — jams this sticky sweet are apt to give you a stomach ache,” write the band on Bandcamp, where you can preview the album in full.
CreaturoS, meanwhile, are nominated for Punk Artist of the Year in the 2014 Boston Music Awards.
