This is Boston, in L.A.
Homegrown pop group the New Kids On The Block will soon be joining a more famous block, getting their own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, reports Boston Magazine.
The star will be placed next month, and though the exact location is as-of-yet unknown, a “large ceremony will take place on October 9 on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles,” and the festivities will be live-streamed at 2:30 p.m. EST via walkoffame.com.
Yesterday, Donnie Wahlberg broke the news via Twitter, and he could hardly contain his excitement.

A 40-year-old Leominster woman named Melissa Buja spearheaded the three-year process of getting NKTOB recognized. “It’s been a dream of mine since 1994,” Buja tells Boston Magazine. “But the guys earned it themselves.”
As the publication points out, Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg both have their own stars on the Walk of Fame, but Ben Affleck is still waiting for that fateful call.
Maybe after the next Batman movie…
