Wrecked: Miley Cyrus, Metallica, Eminem, Katy Perry, Shakira and One Direction enter Guinness Book of World Records

With the help of “Wrecking Ball,” Miley Cyrus is now in the Guinness Book of World Records. The pop singer joins Metallica, Eminem’s, Shakira, Katy Perry, One Direction, and others as new entries into the 2014 edition, which hits (what used to be called) “bookshelves” on September 11.

Cyrus is honored for being “the most searched-for pop star on the internet, partly due to the buzz she generated after her controversial performance at last year’s MTV VMAs and the video for her single ‘Wrecking Ball,” according to the NME.

Metallica gets the nod for being the first and only band to ever play a show on all of Earth’s seven continents after rocking the fuck out of Antarctica last December, and Eminem’s “Rap God” shames the Micro Machines guy by featuring the most words in a hit single — 1,560 in 6:04, according to record keepers.

Shakira is the first person to hit 100 million “likes” on Facebook, Katy Perry holds the record for most Twitter followers with more than 52 million, and perhaps most devastatingly, One Direction are honored as the first act to ever have their first three studio albums debut at Number 1 on the United States Billboard charts. And you’re well aware, those are last year’s Midnight Memories, 2012’s Take Me Home, and 2011’s Up All Night.

And as of press time, Manowar is still the loudest band in the world (at least by our standards…)
