Fresh off their nod as one of the Improper Bostonian’s 10 best local bands making the noisy rounds these days, the pop-rock quartet I Want You have dropped their newest single, “Blame It On Tomorrow,” with all proceeds through December going to the National MS Society.
It’s all a nice tie-in leading up to their performance at Night 1 of this year’s three-night Crash Safely benefit series, which annually raises money and awareness for the charity group. The I Want You kick Crash Safely off Sept. 27 at the Midway Cafe in Jamaica Plain. Also on the bill are Gene Dante & the Future Starlets, Watts, As The Sparrow, and the Petes, featuring the Figgs’ pair of Petes, Donnelly and Hayes.
“Blame It On Tomorrow” was produced by Pete Weiss, and it’s got a nice little Split Enz-meets-Pixies-meets-the-Cars kind of vibe. Fire it up via Bandcamp below, start working on that infectiously stuttering chorus, and preview all the bands playing Crash Safely here.
The Daykamp Creative poster has the deets down below, as well, and we suggest rufling through the Crash Safely homepage to scan the full list of raffle and auction items, which includes a just-added Les Paul guitar.
