While many around the world were awestruck last year by the sharp pop goodness of Haerts’ Hemiplegia EP, which was carried on the strength of stellar electro-pop single “Wings,” those in Boston were well aware of the songwriting talents of the Brooklyn band’s chief songwriters, vocalist Nini Fabi and keyboardist Ben Gebert.
As Nini & Ben, the pair were darlings of Berklee College of Music’s network and circuit before refining their sound, making the move to New York, and teaming with Garrett Ienner (guitar) and Derek McWilliams to round out Haerts.
Today, the band has dropped a new lyric video for “Giving Up,” and it’s another uplifting pop jam that glistens and glides in all the right places, stretching out over four rolling minutes.
“Giving Up,” as well as accompanying single “Call My Name,” are reported to be included on a new full-length Haerts LP we can expect later this year.
