We’re living in the age of the sub-par band name, but there’s something oddly engaging about the moniker for Dralms, a word that’s not in the dictionary but still elicits a certain distinction.
That feeling is carried out in “Crushed Pleats,” a hypnotic, moody new single from the Vancouver band led by songwriter Christopher Smith. The autumn-endearing track is the companion piece to a previous single, the more atmospheric “Divisions of Labour,” and both get the 7-inch release treatment this month: today in the United States via Fat Possum Records and then September 22 in the United Kingdom through Full Time Hobby.
We’re told a North American tour is in the works for Dralms, but in the meantime, we’ll just have to sit back and listen to this with the lights off.
