Wednesday might be a good day to stay indoors as Boston has officially declared August 6 “Godsmack Day.”
The Lawrence metal band will be honored by Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh at a special meet-and-greet and album signing at Newbury Comics in Faneuil Hall. Rock radio station WAAF, the first on the FM dial to play Godsmack’s music, will be on hand to live broadcast the festivities.
In addition to giving out hard stares, Godsmack will also be signing copies of their new record 1000hp, which officially drops tomorrow Universal/Republic/Spinefarm Records.
Here’s more on the signing from Loudwire:
Newbury Comics will open at the special time of 8AM ET and the first 500 to pick up the new Godsmack disc will be granted a wristband allowing them to meet the band for the special autograph signing after the presentation. The lineup for the event will start on Clinton Street for those with wristbands at 4PM ET, with the Mayor kicking off the festivities at 4:30 PM ET.
