Let’s all meet up in the year 2014 — again.
We had such a smashing time at the Britpop Social Club launch that we’re returning to Abigail’s Restaurant in Kendall Square on Thursday, June 21. A little bit closer to the weekend, with the same casual vibe of the debut. Where else can you drink a cocktail called the Stone Rose while listening to some lost Gene and Marion b-sides?
With the second session now in order, this is our Modern Life Is Rubbish to the launch’s Leisure, and to celebrate oh, so accordingly, we’re giving away a pair of tickets to see Damon Albarn on Monday, June 9 at Royale in Boston.
All together now: woo-hoo!
Albarn released his debut solo record a few weeks ago, and will be making a rare Boston appearance that even Justine Frischmann would get excited about. All you have to do to win the pair of tickets is email DAMON in the subject line to michael@vanyaland.com and we’ll select (no, not the magazine) a winner by this time next week.
And as for Britpop Social Club, follow us on twitter for updates, song selections, and other cool stuff from what now looks like will be a monthly event. It’s not a dance night, so we’re able to dig deep into the Cool Britannia catalogue. Bring a mate.
