We got pretty excited a few minutes ago when MissInfo tweeted out that Beyoncé had spiced up this Monday holiday with a special “Memorial Day playlist” for us all to enjoy. After all, we can all count on Bey to look after us and provide some sweet tunes as we fire up that grill and lounge out on patios and backyards across America.
“Happy Memorial Day!,” Beyoncé wrote on her blog on Friday. “Welcome the unofficial start of summer with some classics.”
But the Queen’s playlist wasn’t a Spotify mix or a Soundloud embed or anything else that would have played a continuous run of music while we play cornhole and eat burgers. Nah, it was a bunch of separate YouTube links, and not even linked-up as a playlist. The song selection was tight though, including tracks from everyone like Michael Jackson and Earth, Wind And Fire to Juvenile and Kanye. Hell, even lil’ sis Solange’s soulda-been-massive 2012 single “Losing You” was included.
So if you got a guy or girl on standby ready to hit play a million tines and skip over the advertising, get in on this shit below. And in case you were wondering, Queen Bey and Jay Z skipped out on Kanye and Kim’s wedding this weekend, opting instead to chill in the Hamptons.
