How Deep Is Our Love?: The City of Boston has declared today Barry Gibb Day

If you woke up this morning feeling like today was a brand new day, of sorts, then there’s a good reason. No, not because Vanyaland has turned a year old, but because yesterday the city has declared today, May 15, Barry Gibb Day in Boston.

How deep is our love for the last living Bee Gee? Very, apparently. Barry Gibb Day comes exactly one week after the City of Cambridge declared May 8 Keytar Bear and Abby Taylor Day.

Your move, Somerville.

In any event, disco legend Gibb is in town this week for a gig at the TD Garden tonight. It’s all part of his Mythology tour that celebrates his several decades in the music biz, as well as pay tribute to his late brothers — and fellow Bee Gees — Robin and Maurice, as well as brother Andy.

Check out the proclamation from Mayor Marty Walsh’s office below. We’re told the new Mayor is a pretty big Bee Gees fan. And you just know the Garden is going to explode when Gibb breaks into “Massachusetts” later tonight.
