Report: Paul Simon and Edie Brickell arrested after domestic violence dispute

Grammy-winning musician Paul Simon and his wife, Edie Brickell, were arrested in Connecticut Saturday night after a domestic violence dispute. Surely, your social media feed is now full of Simon’s lyrics — something about needing a bodyguard, or even “the sound of violence” — and maybe there’s even an embed of Brickell’s 1988 hit with the New Bohemians, “What I Am.”

According to Channel 5 WCVB in Boston:

Singer Paul Simon and his wife Edie Brickell were arrested by police in Connecticut after an apparent domestic dispute, police said.

Simon and Brickell were charged with disorderly conduct after police responded to the couple’s New Canaan home on Saturday night.

Few details were released about the incident. They are scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Monday.

Simon, 72, and Brickell, 48 have been married for more than 20 years. They have three children.
