A grieving Mick Jagger has penned a heartbreaking note about his late girlfriend, fashion designer L’Wren Scott, and posted it to his homepage, mickjagger.com.
Under the simple headline “L’WREN” in all caps is a black and white photo and the message. The Rolling Stones singer also left the note on his Facebook page. It reads:
I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way.
We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves.
She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me.
I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received.
I will never forget her,
Mick
Scott was found dead of an apparent suicide on Monday. She was 49.
The Rolling Stones cancelled a concert in Australia tomorrow night to properly mourn, according to CNN.
“Frontier Touring and Concerts West regret to announce that The Rolling Stones concert in Perth will not be going ahead as scheduled for Wednesday 19 March 2014,” read a statement CNN posted. “No further information is available at this time, ticket holders are asked to hold on to their tickets until a further update is available.”
The couple had been dating since 2003. This is the image Jagger posted:
