Here’s a bummer of a way to start the weekend — UK pop sensation John Newman has cancelled pretty much his entire North American tour this month and next, which included a March 29 gig at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston. That show, like many others on this tour of the United States and Canada, was sold out.
Newman broke the news via Facebook this afternoon. He is, oddly, however, able to make both of his Coachella appearances in April in Indio, California. So visa issues aren’t the fault here. We’ll post more details when we get them; in the meantime, refunds are likely available at point of purchase.
Newman performed at Brighton Music Hall in January. His breakout hit, “Love Me Again,” is all over FM radio and approaching 100 million plays on YouTube.
Here’s his announcement from earlier today…
Hi Everyone,
I am so very sorry to have to tell you that due to circumstances completely beyond my control, my sold out tour of both USA and Canada in March and April has now got to be cancelled. I hope you will believe me when I say I am extremely upset about this situation, as I was so looking forward to coming back after my first amazing trip in January.
The only shows I will be undertaking will be the two Coachella weekends, so if you are coming to those, be sure I will put on an incredible performance for you.
For everyone else, I hope to see you again before too long and thank you for all your amazing support and your patience.Once again I am genuinely sorry about this.
Love & respect
John
And here’s Newman’s post in fancy form…
