So it appears that Soundcloud went down for a bit a little after 6 p.m. EST today — all because electro DJ/producer Porter Robinson unexpectedly dropped a new track. “Sea of Voices” is off his upcoming Worlds album, due later this year via Astralwerks.
In November, the 21-year-old North Carolina-born producer told Billboard his major-label debut LP would be “not a party record,” and “Sea Of Voices” suggests as much.
It’s a lush, atmospheric track with a synthy, three-minute build-up reminiscent of M83. Shortly after releasing the Sea Of Voices,” Robinson asked fans to be patient and listen to the entire thing — “don’t just click on the loud part of the waveform,” he tweeted.
Check it out, it’s pretty epic.
Here’s how the track was dropped, about an hour ago…
