Yesterday, America was treated to two different versions of Top 40 hit “Locked Out Of Heaven” — first by Keyboard Cat during the Kitten Halftime Show of the Puppy Bowl, then during the Super Bowl Halftime Show by the song’s creator, Bruno Mars.
If only we knew about this Keytar Bear clip ahead of time, we could have added it to the Super Sunday soundtrack.
This recording is from late last month deep in the bowels of an MBTA station here in Boston, shot not too long after he performed live at the Do617 launch party outside the Paradise Rock Club.
It might not be Keytar Bear’s best work — have you heard his rendition of “Beat It”? — and there’s certainly a lot of creative license shown here, but dammit he’s our bear and we love him.
Meanwhile, Mars’ Moonshine Jungle tour hits the TD Garden on July 2. Tickets are on sale now.
