Billy Joel is touring baseball stadiums this summer, and will make a stop at Fenway Park on June 26. The show was announced by Live Nation this morning at a live press conference at the home of the 2013 World Series champion Boston Red Sox.
It’s Joel’s first time performing at Fenway and his first solo headlining performance in Boston in five years.
The local stop might be the only time he plays for fans of a winner this summer, as the New York native will also perform at Wrigley Field in Chicago, National Park in Washington, DC, and Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
Earlier this week, Joel kicked off an open-ended residency at Madison Square Garden in New York; he’ll play there monthly until people stop giving a shit.
Tickets to the Fenway date go on sale to the general public on Saturday, February 8 via redsox.com/billyjoel.
Vanyaland sister site Do617 is giving away a pair of tickets before they go on sale next weekend. Head over to the do617 blog for details.
