In 1986 the Replacements reluctantly released a music video for college-rock anthem “Bastards of Young.” It was a simple, stark, black and white look at record player and speaker, complete with some vinyl and milk crates. Twenty-eight years later, Boston’s Thunderbloods have finally answered the question of what else exists in that legendary room. Pull back and scan to the right, and there’s “Monica.”
Who knew that guy had company all this time?
Did Monica get pissed when he kicked over the speaker?
Or did the guy get aggro because Monica keeps smoking his fucking cigarettes and constantly invites her man over to make out in the corner while they watch this dude listen to the Replacements?
We guess it’s just one of those things, man. We are the sons of no one.
