The loss of bassist Kim Deal and the cold shoulder from the Boston Music Awards hasn’t slowed down the Pixies. Yesterday the pioneering alternative rock band released another single/video off this year’s hit/miss EP-1, and it’s an explosive little number that finds guitarist Joey Santiago walking through the desert until he’s blown to smithereens.
1. Deserts in music videos are so hot right now.
2. After Deal’s departure, maybe this is a warning to Santiago from David Lovering and Black Francis. To quote Sonny from A Bronx Tale, “Now yous can’t leave.”
