Watch Red Sox good luck charm the Dropkick Murphys sing the National Anthem last night @ Fenway Park

Last night’s World Series Game 6 was a relative breeze, with the Red Sox cruising to a 6-1 victory en route their first championship since 2007 and third in 10 years. In fact, the only real frustrating moment was before the game, when Fox cut out of its national broadcast just as the Dropkick Murphys broke into “Shipping Up To Boston” right there on the Fenway Park field.

Of course, their hometown rallying cry came right after the Dropkicks sang the National Anthem, which Fox was glad to broadcast. Check out the video above.

The Dropkicks employed an accordion and banjo, and even without the bagpipes, it was still the most Boston thing ever. Imagine being on the Cardinals watching that go down?

Before the game, Fox’ Maria Stephanos reported that the Dropkicks were 5-0 in singing the Star Spangled Banner at Fenway. After the game during a live segment on MLB Network, Red Sox OF Jonny Gomes said the band was now 8-0. We’ll check the tape and see who is correct. Either way, they’re undefeated.

The Dropkicks sang the anthem before Game 6 of the American League Championship Series against Detroit, and of course, the Sox won that game, too.
