From Cut Copy to Empire of the Sun to Midnight Juggernauts to Miami Horror to the Presets (hot damn), Australia is quite the hotbed for electronic pop these days. Perhaps the next in that line — and that’s quite a line — is Melbourne’s Strange Talk, who caught our attention a few months ago with the synthpop comet jam “Cast Away.”
The band makes what we believe is their Boston debut on Monday at T.T. The Bear’s Place in Cambridge, and we’ve got your +1 hookup. Just fire an email off to michael@vanyaland.com with STRANGE TALK in the subject line, and we’ll select a winner around noon on Monday. Fellow Aussies the Griswolds are also on the bill, and local beats and treats are supplied by synthpop pirate Avoxblue and DJ Carbo, who will no doubt be rocking his Sox jersey in the booth. We might have to explain that one to the out-of-towners.
