Vanyaland founder and editor Michael Marotta, along with contributor Hilary Hughes, will be speaking Monday afternoon at Berklee College of Music’s Q-Brew series. The duo will be addressing Berklee music business students and the school’s newspaper staff, and giving tips on how to have a career in the media side of the music industry.
The discussion will go down at Cafe 939 on Boylston Street from 3 to 5pm, is FREE, and open to the general public. Deets are below, as well as a fancy-pants flyer.

The session’s panelists are Hilary Hughes and Michael Marotta. Hughes is a pop culture correspondent for Esquire, The Village Voice, Rolling Stone, Elle, and USA TODAY. She has also graced Paste, Refinery 29, Bullett, The Boston Globe, and Vanyaland with her talent.
Marotta is the founder of Vanyaland, a fast-growing new media company in New England, and the owner of Vanya Records. He’s also a DJ, promoter, writer, and radio host.
Kyle Billings, a music business major at Berklee and editor-in-chief of the Music Business Journal, will moderate the panel session.
