[dropcap]S[/dropcap]weden just fucking owns electro-pop music, and this time they’re getting an assist from down under. Australia’s Kate Akhurst was just what a trio of Stockholm producers — Markus Dextegen, Oskar Sikow Engström, and Hampus Nordgren Hemlin – needed to bring Kate Boy to life. Last year the quartet dropped the Northern Lights EP via IAMSOUND, and the title track is a throbbing electro echo-chamber that comets around the insides of your body until you’re sprawled out on the dance floor making love to the strobe lights. Other singles “In Your Eyes” and “The Way We Are” are further examples proving this Boy is already very grown up. Kate Boy comes to Boston to play the Pill dance party on Friday, September 13.
