Lorde announces North American tour dates, but there’s no Boston show

Of course there’s no Boston date in Lorde’s latest run of North American live shows — our city probably wouldn’t allow the 16-year-old New Zealand pop star to enter any of the venues in which she’d perform. In the meantime, we’re left with two riveting singles from the future star who is making even Charli XCX appear a bit geriatric: the low-rattle electro-pop hummer “Tennis Court,” and the snappy “Royals.” The latter is serving as the first single of her upcoming LAVA/Republic Records album, due out September 30.

Check out her short run of fall North American shows, including last night’s sold-out gig in NYC and tomorrow’s also sold-out Los Angeles date, and then get into the two aforementioned tracks after the tour itinerary jump.

Hopefully Lorde comes to Boston soon; maybe she can enroll at Emerson or Boston University and get a gig in one of their student venues. In the meantime, we need more all-ages venues.
