Take a cold hard look at that grill tray tomorrow afternoon, our nation’s Independence Day and BBQ holiday, and you’ll likely see an assortment of meats being cooked to perfection. Some burgers, some dogs, some bratwurst, hell maybe even a veggie or two (depending how your bun rolls).
ALISON D’ARRIGO’S latest Weekenders playlist is as varied as that grill, featuring juicy new cuts from Massachusetts rock like the Pixies and Potty Mouth to dance jams of Fatboy Slim and Avicii to a sympathetic nod to our British neighbors across the Atlantic, of which we gained independence from back in 1776, in Bloc Party and Editors. Hell, it even starts off with some Last American Buffalo, and you just can’t get more red, white, and blue than that.
There’s also some new jams in there we’ve yet to hear, so we’re excited to spin this around the weekend.
Light up the playlist via the Soundcloud below, and watch more than just the fireworks blow up this weekend.
