Bad Rabbits perform “Can’t Fool Me” on Kimmel; American Dream afterparty 05.25.13 @ Good Life

It was Friday night, and the biggest party around Boston was on television, broadcast on a few hours delay from New York City. Our very own BAD RABBITS, capping a record-release week that saw them crash the top spot on the iTunes R&B charts and build crazy momentum before their appearance at Boston Calling next weekend, funked-up the stage of Jimmy Kimmel Live and just crushed it, showing a national TV audience what we in Boston have known for a few years, back to when they were first known as Eclectic Collective, through the release of 2009’s Stick Up Kids EP, and to this new high-point in the band’s constantly-upward trajectory: Bad Rabbits just don’t fuck around.

Now they prep for one of the biggest music festivals in New England this summer, when they kick off Boston Calling’s Day One slate Saturday at 1pm EST. As an added bonus, guitarist Salim Akram will be joined by DJ Brek. One later that night for the band’s American Dream Afterparty at Good Life on Kingston Street.

The time to party is now.

Before WFNX went black in March, we were banging hard the first two singles off American Love — “We Can Roll” and “Fall In Love” — and now I’m kinda bummed the station isn’t still around, because this new track would sound pretty sweet lined up before of after “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk.

Between this and “Get Lucky,” however, one thing is certain: 2013 is gonna be the Summer of the Groove. Check out Bad Rabbits’ national tour dates below.
