This Show Is Tonight: The Hives deliver a rock dynamo to Brighton

Everyone has their kink, and here is one that may further divide this great United States of America: Do you prefer The Hives outside or indoors?

Luckily, Boston had the option of both in this blessed 2024, as the Swedish rock and roll dynamo gave us two chances to freak the fuck out with one of the live circuit’s finest. The first arrived in July when Pelle Almqvist and the dudes sassed up Fenway Park for the Foo Fighters, and the second lands tonight (September 25) with a roof overhead as The Hives blitz Roadrunner in Brighton.

The reason for this frenzy of Hives activity is obvious: They’re out on the road supporting last year’sThe Death of Randy Fitzsimmons, the band’s first album in more than a decade. Revisit it below ahead of tonight’s gig.

THE HIVES + BAD NERVES :: Wednesday, September 25 at Roadrunner, 89 Guest St. in Brighton, MA :: 7 p.m., all ages, $40 to $80 :: Event info :: Advance tickets
